Volunteer Info
As a community-based organisation Athlone Community Radio relies upon volunteers. The person writing this page (me!) is a volunteer. In this case both Terry and myself devote time to maintain parts of the web site. So you see it’s not just about getting behind a microphone and spinning discs.
The various aspects of a radio station requires skills in people management, technical, marketing, research, legal… you name it! There is always something to be done, and success is only assured when we have the support and trust of the community.
But it’s not all about giving and no reward. We regularly provide accredited courses for our volunteers so you can acquire valuable qualifications in return for your time. You get to be part of a team of dynamic people who care about Athlone enough to commit time and effort for the benefit of many.
