Athlone Community Radio is proud to launch the fourth series of Lions and Leprechauns, a storytelling programme celebrating African and Irish folklore while giving primary school pupils the chance to share their own creative stories.
This year, almost 100 stories were written and performed by pupils from St. Paul’s NS, Scoil na gCeithre Maistrí, Summerhill NS and Gaelscoil de hÍde.
Storytellers Simmy Ndlovu, Linda Butler, and Brian Foy bring traditional tales to life, while pupils take the microphone to read their own imaginative work. The series also includes bilingual storytelling, with several episodes recorded in Irish.
