In the coming days and weeks, Athlone Community Radio will remain on the air delivering hourly news updates where possible, and otherwise sticking to our usual diverse schedule. For the coming fortnight, our station will be operating on a skeleton staff to minimise risk. During this time, we ask that staff, volunteers, and friends of Athlone Community Radio only come to the station if they have been scheduled to be present.
The Coronavirus pandemic has affected our income generation. Our upcoming training with foreign exchange students has been cancelled. Our salesperson is unable to carry out her usual role of meeting customers to sell advertising and sponsorship. We are a not-for-profit organisation and we rely heavily on this income to pay our rent, electricity, etc.
We would appreciate any support you could give us during this time. €2 from every person who likes our Facebook page would cover our rent for an entire year, while €5 would cover a large percentage of our annual overheads. Please consider supporting your local community radio station. Thank you.
