Put your knowledge to the test in aid of Athlone Community Radio!
Athlone Community Radio is inviting the local community to join us for a table quiz in The Bounty Bar, Athlone, on Wednesday, November 11, at 8pm.
Whether you’re a seasoned quiz enthusiast or simply looking for a sociable evening with friends, the event promises a chance to test your general knowledge while supporting your local community radio station. Entry costs €10 per person or €40 for a table of four. There will also be a raffle on the night, with some great prizes up for grabs!
Broadcasting on 88.4 FM, we provide a platform for local voices, stories and experiences. Central to our work is creating opportunities for people from marginalised and underrepresented communities to have their voices heard, share their perspectives and take an active role in local media.
Through our programmes and community projects we bring people together, explore issues that matter locally and celebrate the diversity, creativity and community spirit of Athlone and the surrounding areas. We work with local organisations and community groups to help ensure that a broad range of experiences is reflected on our airwaves.
Our work also extends beyond broadcasting. We deliver free QQI-accredited training alongside informal radio production training, helping people develop skills in interviewing, producing, researching, recording and editing. These opportunities offer participants a chance to build confidence, express themselves, and discover what goes into making radio, with support to put their learning into practice.
As a volunteer-led, not-for-profit community station, we depend on the enthusiasm of our volunteers and the support of our wider community. By coming along to our table quiz, you’ll be helping us continue to provide these opportunities and keep community voices at the heart of local broadcasting.
So gather your friends, family or colleagues, put a team together and join us for an evening of friendly competition at The Bounty on Wednesday, November 11, at 8pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
