Athlone Community Radio’s Volunteer Coordinator role is becoming available. This is a CE position.

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary.  Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
•Researching and writing volunteer policies and procedures.
•Liaising with manager and subcommittees to ensure adequate number of volunteers are recruited.
•Develop recruiting strategies and campaigns as required to ensure sufficient volunteer numbers are maintained at all times
•Generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the ACR.
•Raising staff awareness of the role and function of volunteers.
•Ensuring there is appropriate support and training for volunteers
•Ensure that company policies, procedures and handbook are reviewed regularly and kept up to date
•Promoting volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns.
•Recruiting volunteers and ensuring they are appropriately matched and trained for a position.
•Organising rotas and providing inductions and training.
•Monitoring, supporting, motivating and accrediting volunteers and their work.
•Organising profile-raising events to attract new volunteers.
•Attending committees and meetings.
•Keeping up to date with legislation and policy related to volunteering and making any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
•Devising training plan for new volunteers in conjunction with requirements and recommendations of programming committee.
•Maintaining databases and undertaking any other administrative duties.
•Develop event to celebrate volunteering and volunteers.
•Helping with fundraising events.
