In The Spotlight : Saturday 13th April – 6:30 pm

‘In the Spotlight’ an 11 episode series featuring Irish artists will start to broadcast on Sat April 13th at 6:30pm, you can listen on 88.4fm, online at athlonecommunityradio.ie and the tunein app. All episodes will be available on mixcloud.com/AthloneCommuntyRadio from Saturday Apr 13th.

A unique concert showcasing and celebrating emerging talent took place in the Dean Crowe Theatre in February, funded by Coimisiún na Meán (Ireland’s media regulator). In the Spotlight was an amazing event that supported emerging artists on the local music scene, organised by Athlone Community Radio and Colin Fahy of local video production company Depict Media.

The episodes will feature the following artists, Martyn Cosgrave, Rachel Goode, Aishling Rafferty, Ciara Lawless and Rob Irwin. All of the artists undertook training in media skills, social media skills and video & photography. These workshops with Trainer Deirdre Hunt of Athlone Community Radio and Colin Fahy of Depict Media will feature in the first 5 episodes.

In episode 6 we hear from people with experience in the Music and Entertainment Industry, Patsy McCaul and Liz Fletcher. The artists also took part in a panel discussion where they gained valuable information from Radio Presenters David Smyth and Pete Casey chaired by Colin Fahy. While the final 5 episodes will concentrate on their live performances where they took to the stage with well-known local radio Presenter, Pete Casey, each episode will finish with a medley of their songs to showcase their amazing talents.

Watch out for this amazing series that is educational, informative and entertaining.
