. Our Lady’s Bower Secondary School open evening takes place on Thursday November 10th at 6pm. Further information on enrolment is available on the school website ourladysbower.com.

. St Francis Football Club is holding a table quiz in The Bounty Bar Athlone on Thursday November 10th at 8.30pm. Complimentary finger food will be served on the night and there will also be a raffle. All support will be most welcome on the night.

. Buccaneers Youths Rugby is holding a Table Quiz in the Bounty Bar Athlone on Friday, November 11th at 8.30pm. All support will be greatly appreciated.

. The Marist College Athlone will host their enrolment evening on Thursday November 17th at 6pm.  More information is available at maristathlone.net.

. Athlone Emergency Defibrillator Group has announced that they are holding a CPR Day in Golden Island Shopping Centre on Saturday 12th November from 9am – 5pm. The group hopes to raise awareness of the importance of CPR and also the provision of defibrillators at various locations that are available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Various local groups and organizations are going to be performing CPR, and the committee is inviting members of the public to come along and possibly learn a lifesaving skill, while helping to raise funds for the group to continue its vital work.

. The Midlands Science Festival will finally return in-person this year after two years of online delivery due to the pandemic. Highlights of the festival will include a presentation exploring the science of resilience with psychologist Dr Andrew Magee, in the Radisson Hotel Athlone. The Midlands Science Festival will run from Sunday November 13th to Sunday November 20th. Booking for events is now open and details are available at midlandsscience.ie.

. Athlone Little Theatre’s production of “The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley” by Jimmy Keary will run from November 23rd30th. For more information and tickets please visit athlonelittletheatre.ie.

. Athlone Midlands Samaritans need additional volunteers. No experience or qualifications are necessary, and training is provided. If you are interested, please  e-mail: athlone.branchrecruitment@samaritans.org

The Samaritans are available on free call 116123, 24 hours a day to provide emotional support for anyone who wishes to speak to someone in confidence.

. St Mary’s Active Retirement Club has reopened for meetings on Monday afternoon’s at 3pm, in the Clonmacnoise Room at St Mary’s Presbytery Athlone. New members are welcome.

. Athlone Indoor Bowls Club meets every Tuesday & Friday nights in St Peter’s School Hall from 7pm. New members are welcome. For more information contact 086-2525593.

. Bingo will take place in St Kieran’s Community Centre each Tuesday night at 8pm. All Welcome
